Arts and Crafts

Whether you’re already a budding artist or simply want to pick up a new skill, we have a range of art groups and societies for you to get involved in. Activities range from lectures to workshops and exhibitions and it’s a great chance to meet new members of the community.

  • Lecture Room
    Chalfont Fine Art Society

    Chalfont Fine Arts meets on the third Wednesday afternoon of each month (apart from July, August & December) for a lecture on Fine Arts. In addition, outings are arranged for exhibitions and historic buildings during the year. Two study days are also held at the Centre when a particular subject is explored in more depth.

  • Chalfont Quilters

    Are you interested in patchwork and quilting? 

    We have a varied programme of quilting related activities and meet up to share and develop our skills. We welcome new members who would like to join us in exploring and developing ideas in patchwork and quilting.

  • The Arts Society Chiltern

    This Society is one of two NADFAS groups that meet at the Community Centre. We have monthly lectures from September to June at the Centre with following coffee. We also have 4 Study Groups that have their own programmes throughout the year.

    We have been meeting at the Community Centre for many years and welcome interest from potential new members.


    We are the Founder  NADFAS society which was started by the late Patricia Fay 50 years ago this year as “The Chiltern Antiques Group”

    Beechwood Artists

    Beechwood Artists was formed in 1996 and affiliated to the SAA ( Society For All Artists.)

    We have over 100 members to date of all ablities from beginners to professional artists who work in various mediums on a wide variety of subjects. We have a DVD and book library free of charge to our members. We meet every Wednesday at Amersham Common Village Hall to do our paintings and also have demonstrations, and workshops monthly by professional artists.

    Our Spring Exhibition is held at the Chalfont St. Peter Community Centre, which has always been well attended and enjoyed by all of our visitors. As well as framed and unframed pictures we also have cards, silk scarves and other items made by our members. There is also tea and cakes for sale mostly by our members.
