Social Groups
Our social groups provide a time for members of our community to come together. Our groups range from coffee mornings to Bingo and Bridge. Most of the groups organise outings, speakers, annual events or relaxed tournaments.

Austenwood Bridge
The Club has pre-dealt hands and uses BridgeMates to score wirelessly. The results are normally posted on the website by 11:00 pm. Usually there are Pairs events on the second and subsequent Mondays each month, the first Monday is usually a teams event. A detailed programme is available on the website. Non-members are welcome and pay no table money on their first visit. The Club has two teams in the County League of Eight.

Chalfont St. Peter Garden Club
We are lucky to host Chalfont St. Peter’s Garden Club who have a hut behind the centre that sells an array of essential garden products. The club holds various meetings throughout the year in the Main Hall and also organises outings as well as a Spring and Summer show.There's more to it than you would think!

The Bridge School at Gerrards Cross

The Bridge School at Gerrards Cross has various classes running from Beginners onwards.
Val Bannister is committed to running classes in a fun environment and in a friendly and relaxed way.
There is a varied programme which includes very popular Duplicate Session run Thursday morning in the Main Hall.
We can all see the advantages of exercising the body but we must keep the brain in shape too!

Chalfont Common Woman's Institute
The Women’s Institute is an educational, social, non-sectarian non-political organisation, offering women the opportunity of friendship, sharing and learning.
​
With a membership of 58 our meetings are lively and well attended. Outings are arranged from time to time. New members and visitors are always welcome.

There are Groups Covering Walking, Bridge, Gardens, Cinema, Theatre, Table tennis, Book Reading Discussion and occasional trips. .
​
Through the National Federation of Women’s Institutes we address concerns of safety, health, rural revitalisation and education.

Gravel Hill Bridge Club
The club meets once a week to play duplicate bridge in a friendly and competitive manner. EBU rules are used as a guidleline but no Master Points are awarded. If you would like to join the club, or come as a visitor, please contact Jane Troughton on the number above.

Members have the opportunity to take part in Annual events such as Swiss Pairs,Fun Evening, Spring Trophy, Garden Party and Christmas Party as well as a bridge weekend away.

Simply Walk…it’s simple, easy and free!
You’ll improve your health, meet new people and learn about your local countryside on one of our 74 walks across Buckinghamshire.
​
Don’t worry if you are not used to regular exercise or are recovering from illness. Our Simply Walk leaders will encourage you to walk at your own pace to enable you to build up your strength and stamina.
​
There is free (donations are welcome) and there is a small charge for coffee/biscuits.

U3A - University of the Third Age
​
Chalfonts u3a is an individual charity run by volunteers for its members with over 70 interest groups. These groups offer members a wide variety of physical, intellectual and artistic activities to keep them alert, fit and healthy as well as opportunities to get out, meet new friends and enjoy a varied social life.
Membership is £20 per annum and is open to all people who are no longer in full-time employment, irrespective of race, religion or politics. We have members from all the Chalfonts, Seer Green, Gerrards Cross, Jordans and other villages in the surrounding area.
The u3a began in Britain in 1982. The Third Age Trust is the national representative body for u3a’s in the UK and there are over 1000 u3’s in the UK with 440,000 members.
